Call for Abstracts, Posters & Videos

Call For Abstracts
If you have received funding from KY EPSCoR, NASA KY, DOD, EPA, NIH-IDeA, USDA-AFRI or are conducting scientific research at an institution in Kentucky, we invite you to share your progress and outomes at the conference.  Begin by writing an abstract of the research.  Then, follow the guidelines detailed below, to prepare a poster or create a video for presentation at the conference.    Click the green button below to submit the abstract (limited to 300 words) and video link (if applicable) .  Abstracts and video links must be submitted by Friday, October 4, 2013 for inclusion in the conference program and to be considered for selection for oral and viewing presentations .

Oral Presentations
From the abstracts submitted, five will be selected for a five minute oral presentation at the conference in addition to poster presentation. You will be notified by e-mail by Oct 8, 2013 if your abstract has been selected for oral presentation.

Poster Presentations
For each abstract submitted, a 4' high by 7'11" wide cloth display area will be alotted for the preseantion of a printed poster. The posters should be tacked up in their assigned location by 7:45 am Oct 17, 2013.  Presenters are responsible for providing their own tacks.  We expect attendees to peruse the displays throughout the day.  However, authors should be present to answer questions during the scheduled poster sessions. Check the finalized agenda after October 6, for times when your poster will be viewed.

Video Presentations  NEW !!
This year we are accepting video presentations, in place of, or in addition to, poster presentations. Videos should be no longer than 3 minutes.  All videos submitted  will be shown during the poster session and up to  three will be selected for presentation to the main audienceResearchers should be present to answer questions during the scheduled poster sessions.  The video should inform viewers regarding the following:

      • how the work solves a problem or contributes to a body of knowledge and
      • how that knowledge pertains to a bigger picture problem or issue.
      • Include: who is conducting the research & how the research was funded, 
      • Include: brief methods and known results of the research.

How to submit:  Once created, upload your video to YouTube.  Then, along with the submission of your research abstract, enter the video's URL in the appropriate place on the abstract submission form above.  Click here for Instructions on How to Create and Upload Your Video to YouTube.
